Hello Hillcrest Families,

Happy February! As we move through the winter months, our school remains focused on providing engaging learning experiences that help every child grow academically and socially. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

This month, our academic focus will be on strengthening reading and math skills across all grade levels. In reading, students will work on building comprehension, expanding vocabulary, and developing fluency through guided reading, classroom discussions, and independent practice. In math, classes will focus on problem-solving strategies, number sense, fluency, and applying math skills to real-world situations. We encourage families to support learning at home by reading together daily and practicing basic math facts.

February is also a special month in our school community. Students will be learning about kindness, friendship, and respect as we celebrate Valentine’s Day, and classes will also explore important figures and events. We are proud of the thoughtful discussions and meaningful learning taking place across grade levels.

Please be sure to note the important dates listed below in your calendar. We are excited to host our very first Bingo Night, an engaging opportunity for our community to come together, have some fun, connect, and enjoy great conversation.

As the weather remains cold, please remember to send your child to school dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. We aim to go outside whenever possible, so warm coats, hats, and gloves are essential.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement. We look forward to a wonderful month ahead!

Warm regards,
Dr. David
