From The Principal's Desk

Dear Hillcrest Families,

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us last week for our first annual Family Night Bingo. We received wonderful feedback from many families who shared that it was one of the best family events they have attended. It was especially meaningful to hear how much families enjoyed connecting not only with one another, but also with other families at their tables. The gym was filled with laughter, lively conversations, and a true sense of community.

Thanks to your participation and generosity, we raised $1,300 to provide additional funding for classroom activities and enrichment opportunities. We are excited to make Family Night Bingo a new Hillcrest tradition!

March certainly comes in like a lion — not only with changing weather, but also with a full calendar of school activities as we head toward Spring Break. This week, we will be celebrating literacy with fun activities and themed dress-up days (see flyer below) in honor of Read Across America, along with our continued schoolwide read (Crenshaw and Humphrey).

On Thursday, we will host Kindergarten Registration from 4:00–5:45 p.m., alongside other schools in our district (see flyer below). The Hillcrest team and I are excited to welcome our incoming kindergarten students and their families! Even if you have already completed the online registration for next year, we encourage families to attend in person to complete the student screener.

We are grateful for the strong partnerships we continue to build with our families. Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our Hillcrest community.

Dr. David
