Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Cromie as Principal of Trail Wind Elementary School, effective July 1, 2026.
Ms. Cromie has served as Principal of Garfield Elementary School since 2020, where she has led with a strong focus on student-centered learning, collaborative school culture, and high academic expectations for every student. Under her leadership, Garfield has continued to strengthen instructional practices, foster meaningful family engagement, and support each child’s academic and social-emotional growth.
A veteran educator, Ms. Cromie began her career in 2006 at Siena Elementary School as a Kindergarten and 4th grade teacher. She also worked as a Research Assistant at the Developing Mathematical Thinking Institute at Boise State University.
Her administrative experience includes serving as Assistant Principal at Horizon Elementary School and Grace Jordan Elementary School, Summer School Principal at Horizon Elementary, Assistant Principal at Les Bois Junior High School, and Interim Principal at Les Bois Junior High.
Ms. Cromie is widely recognized as a thoughtful and collaborative instructional leader. She is deeply committed to the Boise School District’s Strategic Plan and its focus on preparing students for success in college, career, and life. She actively supports a student-centered instructional model and the continued implementation of standards-based reporting to ensure families receive clear, meaningful information about student progress. Her leadership reflects a belief that every child can learn and thrive when provided the appropriate support, guidance, and opportunities.
Ms. Cromie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Boise State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from University of Idaho.

Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jenny Gibbons as Principal of Collister Elementary School, effective July 1, 2026.
Ms. Gibbons has served as Assistant Principal at White Pine Elementary School since 2025 and brings more than two decades of dedicated service to Boise’s elementary students, staff, and families. Throughout her career, she has served as a District Reading Specialist, Building Reading Specialist, Instructional Lead, classroom teacher, and Special Education paraprofessional—demonstrating a deep commitment to supporting students at every level.
A passionate advocate for literacy and evidence-based instruction, Ms. Gibbons has led schoolwide initiatives aligned with the Science of Reading and state dyslexia legislation. Her work reflects a strong commitment to the Boise School District’s Strategic Plan’s focus on preparing students for success in college, career, and in life. She is a steadfast supporter of student-centered learning and standards-based reporting, ensuring that instruction is responsive, meaningful, and focused on helping each and every child grow.
Ms. Gibbons is known for her collaborative leadership style, her ability to build strong relationships with families and staff, and her dedication to fostering positive, inclusive school cultures where all students feel safe, valued, and empowered to succeed. Her leadership reflects the District’s core values of respect, dignity, honesty, responsibility, and teamwork.
She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Boise State University (2024), a Literacy Endorsement (2019), a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Boise State University.

We are pleased to announce that Abram Lines has been named Principal of Dennis Technical Education Center (DTEC), effective July 1, 2026.
Mr. Lines has served as Principal of Grace Jordan Elementary School since 2023 and brings extensive secondary school leadership and instructional experience that strongly aligns with the mission of DTEC. Throughout his career, Abram has demonstrated a deep commitment to preparing students for success in college, career, and citizenship — a core focus of the Boise School District’s Strategic Plan.
Prior to his elementary leadership roles, Mr. Lines built a strong foundation in secondary education. He served as:
- A secondary school teacher for five years
- Assistant high school principal in Texas for two years
- Assistant principal at Capital High School in the Boise School District for four years
In these roles, he supervised high school departments, supported career and technical pathways, oversaw school safety and operations, evaluated and mentored teachers, and helped lead college-readiness initiatives as an AVID Site Administrator. His experience working directly with secondary students — including designing curriculum for at-risk 9th grade students and teaching Advanced Placement social studies courses — reflects his unwavering belief that every student can achieve at high levels when provided the right support and guidance.
Mr. Line’s leadership is grounded in a strong commitment to student-centered learning, standards-based reporting, and collaborative instructional improvement. He believes in creating responsive school cultures where learning is relevant, expectations are clear, and students are actively engaged in meaningful work that connects to future opportunities.
Dennis Technical Education Center plays a critical role in equipping students with industry certifications, hands-on technical skills, and authentic career exploration experiences. Mr. Lines’ secondary background, instructional leadership expertise, and commitment to real-world learning make him exceptionally well-suited to lead DTEC as it continues to expand pathways that prepare students for high-demand careers and postsecondary success.
Mr. Lines holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Boise State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University–Central Texas.

Boise School District is pleased to announce that Trevor McKenna has been named Principal of Borah High School, effective July 1, 2026.
Mr. McKenna has served as Principal of Riverglen Junior High School since 2023, where he has led with a strong focus on student-centered learning, creating a warm and welcoming environment for students and families, collaboration, and academic excellence. Prior to his time at Riverglen, he served as Assistant Principal at Borah High School for four years, making this appointment a meaningful return to a school community he knows and values.
Since beginning his career in Idaho public education in 2008, Mr. McKenna has served students in a variety of roles, including special education teacher, extended school year consulting teacher, alternative summer high school assistant principal, and assistant principal at Boise High School. He has also contributed to districtwide efforts through service on the Junior High Professional Learning Committee, District Calendar Committee, and Special Education Compliance Team. In addition, he has coached football, basketball, and track.
Throughout his career, Mr. McKenna has cultivated positive and responsive school cultures grounded in trust, accountability, and strong relationships among students, staff, and families. He is deeply committed to the Boise School District’s Strategic Plan and its focus on preparing each and every student for success in college, career, and in life.
A strong advocate for student-centered learning, Mr. McKenna believes every student can successfully learn and grow when provided the appropriate guidance, resources, and support. He supports standards-based reporting practices that emphasize meaningful feedback, clarity of learning expectations, and continuous growth.
“I am eager to continue the incredible work in standards-based reporting that Borah High School has been leading,” Mr. McKenna said. “I am looking forward to building on that strong foundation to ensure that student learning is both effectively supported and accurately reported.”
He also shared his deep personal connection to the school:
“In addition to my professional experiences in education, Borah holds a special place in my heart. Both of my sons attended Borah High School, and as a parent, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact Borah teachers and staff have on students’ lives. That experience deepened my respect for this community and strengthened my commitment to serving it.”
Mr. McKenna earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Boise State University.

Boise School District is pleased to announce that Eric Rausch has been named the new principal of Cynthia Mann Elementary School, effective July 1, 2026.
Mr. Rausch has served students in the Boise School District for more than 23 years and currently serves as Assistant Principal at Boise High School, a role he has held since 2023. Prior to joining Boise High, he taught at Hillside Junior High School (2001–2016), where he served as a 9th grade Speech Communication teacher and AVID 8/9 Coordinator. He later served as a District Instructional Support Specialist (2016–2023), partnering with educators across the district to strengthen instruction and student outcomes, including close collaboration with elementary school teams.
Throughout his career, Mr. Rausch has been a strong advocate for student-centered learning and the belief that every child can successfully learn when provided appropriate guidance, support, and high expectations. His leadership aligns closely with the District’s Strategic Plan and its focus on preparing students for success in college, career, and in life. He has supported the implementation of standards-based reporting practices and instructional strategies designed to ensure clarity, consistency, and meaningful feedback for students and families.
As a District Instructional Support Specialist, Mr. Rausch worked alongside elementary educators to support curriculum alignment, effective assessment practices, and professional learning—helping foster school cultures grounded in collaboration, continuous improvement, and positive student outcomes. His work supporting the District’s PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) framework further reflects his commitment to creating inclusive, responsive learning environments where all students feel valued and supported.
Mr. Rausch has also served as an interim building administrator across the district, designed differentiated curriculum, developed online courses, and led professional development for educators. Known for building strong partnerships with teachers, staff, students, and families, he brings a collaborative leadership style and deep instructional expertise to Cynthia Mann Elementary School.
Mr. Rausch earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from California State University, Chico; a Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Speech and Social Studies from Boise State University; a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Boise State University; and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.

Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebecca Severson as Administrator of Teaching and Learning, effective July 1, 2026. This appointment represents a reclassification of her current role as Assessment and Achievement Supervisor to more fully reflect the scope and impact of her work in supporting teaching and learning across the District.
Since 2025, Mrs. Severson has served as the District’s Assessment and Achievement Supervisor, where she has partnered closely with school leaders and teachers to strengthen instructional practices, align assessment systems, and advance student achievement. Her leadership has consistently centered on supporting our highly qualified educators in delivering student-focused learning experiences grounded in evidence-based practices.
A dedicated Boise School District educator since 2011, Mrs. Severson has served as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, summer school principal, and principal at both Roosevelt and Whitney Elementary Schools. Throughout her career, she has championed the use of assessment and data-informed decision-making to enhance clarity for teachers and students, strengthen standards-based reporting practices, and ensure every student receives the guidance and support necessary to succeed.
Her work has included developing Student Evidence Exploration Days to deepen teachers’ analysis of student learning, restructuring the Problem Solving Intervention Team (PSIT), redesigning Collaborative Learning Communities (CLC) to improve instructional clarity, and supporting professional learning aligned with the District’s Strategic Plan.
In her role as Administrator of Teaching and Learning, Mrs Severson will continue to advance the District’s commitment to student-centered learning, standards-based reporting, and preparing every student for success in college, career, and life. She will work alongside educators and leaders across the District to ensure instructional systems remain aligned, responsive, and focused on high levels of learning for all students.
Mrs. Severson holds a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership from the University of Idaho, a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Boise State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Community Health from Brigham Young University. She also holds an Idaho Teaching Certification (K-8) and an Idaho Administrator Certificate.

Boise School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Robb Thompson as the District’s Administrator of Teaching and Learning and Title IX Coordinator, effective July 1, 2026. This appointment represents a reclassification of his current role as Administrative Learning Coach, a position he has held since 2023.
Mr. Thompson has successfully served students in Idaho since 1995 and brings more than three decades of experience as a teacher, athletic director, assistant principal, principal, and district leader. Within the Boise School District, he has served as Principal of Boise High School, Fairmont Junior High School, Frank Church High School, and Ft. Boise/Mtn. Cove High School, as well as Assistant Principal at Boise High School and South Junior High School. He also led the District’s Summer Alternative High School program and has experience at the elementary, junior high, high school, and alternative school levels. This broad background gives him a deep understanding of the instructional and operational needs of schools across the K–12 system.
As Administrative Learning Coach, Mr. Thompson has partnered closely with principals to build leadership capacity across the District, supporting student-centered learning, advancing standards-based reporting, and strengthening welcoming school cultures grounded in high expectations for every learner. His work reflects a strong commitment to the District’s Strategic Plan and its focus on preparing students for success in college, career, and life.
In his work as Title IX Coordinator, Mr. Thompson has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student safety, equity, and dignity. He has provided guidance and training to administrators, ensured compliance with federal law and District policy, and worked to address concerns promptly, thoroughly, and fairly. His leadership reinforces the District’s dedication to maintaining safe, respectful learning environments where all students feel protected and supported.
In his expanded role as Administrator of Teaching and Learning and Title IX Coordinator, Mr. Thompson will continue to champion high-quality instruction, support our highly qualified educators, and ensure that District systems and practices align with our shared commitment to excellence, safety, and opportunity for every student.
Mr. Thompson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Communications from Gonzaga University, a Secondary Teaching Endorsement from Boise State University, and a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho.
